| The
year is almost over and it has been a very productive and exciting
year. It’s been busy to say the least, but exciting.
Our programs have been some of the
best ever, attendance at General meetings has been way above
normal, and our membership has steadily increased. It takes each
and every Board member and each and every General member to keep
an organization such as ours alive and growing. My hat is off to
all of you!
My thanks to the membership for
providing the financial support for me to attend the HR Florida
State Conference. The state conference is always an outstanding
and worthwhile one. Try to attend in 2001 if you can.
With the election of a SHRM
Foundation Coordinator for 2001 and our financial support to the
foundation, SHRM/Emerald Coast Chapter was awarded the SHRM
Foundation Chapter Champion Medal at the conference. We were one
of only four in the state that received this award. The award is a
feather in our cap and gave us points toward the Superior Merit
Chapter award for 2000.
As you all know we are entering
into the busiest months of the year. President for 2001, Robin
Grobsmith, and 2001 President-Elect, Kathy Starnick,
and other Board members, have taken on added responsibilities
earlier than expected to get us through the end of the year. My
thanks to each of them as no one has had a more loyal and
supportive Board than I have.
I know that 2001 will prove to be a
momentous year and I look forward to serving as the 2001 SHRM
Foundation Coordinator and Liaison.
