The
HR Magazine Innovative Practice Awards, cosponsored by Automatic
Data Processing Inc. and the SHRM Foundation, recognizes a
creative and successful project, activity, practice or program of
an HR department or related staff function.
Formerly administered by the SHRM Research Committee, the
Innovative Practice Awards were created to honor the memories of
Dale Yoder, PH.D., and Herbert Heneman Jr., Ph.D., professors of
industrial relations at the University of Minnesota who helped
advance and promote the importance of the HR Profession.
Entries may reflect the work of one person, a few people or a
large team or department, but should not represent work done
largely by a third-party consultant or vendor (other than small
outsourced components). SHRM members who are consultants may enter
work they have done for clients. (Consultants should enclose a
statement from the client agreeing to be interviewed for and
featured in SHRM publications if the entry wins).
Programs must have been completed or, if ongoing, have had a
substantial amount of work done during calendar year 2000. Entries
will be judged according to three primary criteria of creativity,
effectiveness and applicability / replicability.
Entries must be made in the name of an SHRM member who was closely
involved, although there is no restriction on involvement by
non-members in the program being entered. Current members of the
Boards of Directors of SHRM and its affiliates, and chairpersons
of its Professional Emphasis Groups and National Committees are
ineligible to enter.
Winners will be featured in SHRM
publications. One person in each winning category will receive
complimentary registration to the SHRM Annual Conference and
Exposition June 24-27, 2001, in San Francisco, where
representatives of the winning departments will receive the
awards.
All entries must be postmarked by
December 31, 2000. For more information and entry forms visit the
website at http://www.shrm.org/hrmagazine/awards.
