A few words about The SHRM Foundation
|
The SHRM Foundation is a not-for-profit organization that operates as the research and development arm of the HR profession. The Foundation advances the profession and enhances the knowledge and competency of HR professionals through its funding of research, publications, and educational programs. The work of the SHRM Foundation is supported by tax deductible contributions made by individuals, companies and organizations.
The SHRM Foundation is separate from the SHRM. While SHRM provides some support, the Foundation depends upon annual contributions to build its endowment and fund important research, publications and projects. These include Area Scholarship Program for SHRM members, SHRM Research Award, The Master’s Series at the SHRM Annual Conference & Exposition, and such publications as 2002 Benefits Survey, Age Discrimination in the Workplace by McAfee & Taft, Issues in Employee Leave by Allan H. Weitzman & Xan Raskin and many more.
SHRM-Emerald Coast Chapter has committed themselves to the support of the Foundation through an annual contribution of $500. In addition to this contribution, SHRM-ECC is also holding a raffle to raise additional funds for the Foundation. From June to September chances for a gift basket will be available at our monthly meetings. The gift basket will be awarded at the September meeting, and all proceeds will be donated to the SHRM Foundation.
SHRM Foundation welcomes donations from individuals, too. As a donor of $25 or more, your name will be listed in HR News, the SHRM Foundation Annual Report, and the Foundation website. You will also receive a cloisonné Foundation lapel pin and be eligible to win a giant 6-foot tall stuffed giraffe. For more information on individual donations see
http://www.shrm-org/foundation.
