Salary Survey Just Released
|
If you’re looking for solid survey data for market pricing those critical jobs, be sure to check out
www.SalarySurveyOnline.com. This survey, produced by Effective Resources, Inc. in cooperation with the HR Florida State Council, provides participants a wide variety of data from a questionnaire that covered 276 different jobs in 14 industries.
Participants in this year’s survey were particularly glad to see the release since participants receive the survey data at no charge. This is one of the few surveys produced at no cost to the various associations who support and promote the survey and with no cost to the participants.
Merit Budgets
Based on the State of Florida edition of the survey, planned merit increases average 4.1% compared with a planned 4.5% last year. The smallest planned increase, 3.6%, comes from the larger employers (750 employees or larger). The largest merit increase, 4.8%, comes from mid-sized employers with 200-299 employees.

The weighted average rates from the statewide edition provide a quick look at some interesting jobs:
$ 19,595 Teller

Help Your Local Chapter
In addition to providing the survey at no cost to participants or to your chapter, Effective Resources, Inc. also provides a referral fee to SHRM Chapters. Each Chapter is assigned a unique referral code which entitles them to a fifty dollar ($50) referral fee for each survey sold with their code. Talk about a non-dues revenue opportunity! When purchasing a survey, please enter this referral code for our chapter: 51-459
Good Market Pricing Hints
Regardless of the quality of a given survey, it’s always better to use more than one survey source for market pricing. We recommend at least one industry-specific survey along with two or three general surveys.
Consider using weighted averages when they’re available. Weighted averages are more accurate numbers than straight averages.
