| Congratulations to Kathy Starnick, Benefits Manager at Tybrin
Corporation and Treasurer of the SHRM/ECC . Kathy became a Certified Compensation
Professional (CCP) in December 1999 by successfully passing a series of nine comprehensive
exams that cover subject matter ranging from quantitative analysis and legal compliance to
strategic planning. Our hats off to Kathy on this achievement! Governor Jeb Bush has
appointed Joyce Szilvasy to the Florida Commission on the Status of Women. Joyce is
the Manager of Human Resources for Choctawhatchee Electric Cooperative. Joyce has been a
member of SHRM/ECC since 1989 has served as Board Member at Large, Secretary and President
of our organization.
The Commission consists of 22 appointed members and is statutorily
charged with studying the changing and developing roles of women in American society, and
responsibility for the Florida Women’s Hall of Fame. Congratulations to Joyce on this
prestigious honor!
Kudos to Steve Butts of USBA and Sharon Silsbee from
Sverdrup Technology/ASG. Both obtained their PHR Certification at the December testing. We
